I agree that it should be kept clean but that does nothing for everyday wear and tear. Another tip I would add is making sure those contact points get wet right before a workout. Nada, nothing, zero. When i went to sync for my heart rate, it kept coming up 00. It worked for about two weeks and then it just kept saying my heart rate was 00. I would like to stay with Polar since is like having it work with the treadmills and elipticals I use at the gym. Use a mild soap and water.
To avoid erratic readings, move away from possible sources of disturbance.If the abnormal reading continues despite moving away from the source of disturbance, slow down and check your pulse manually.
