I use it almost every day. I've tried changing HRMs/straps/monitors, using spit/salt water/ECG gel. Nothing worked. They all mix and match. Would anyone else recommend this model? it would work fine for 30 seconds, a minute, whatever, then nothing. I guess you can only stinky sweat up the strap so many times before it resigns.

I know this is an old thread but as I was unable to find any conclusive answer for myself I went ahead and shaved and hey presto! Personally, I do reccomend the FT4 to people who are new and need something easy to program and read and also have fairly average resting heart rates. I decided it was time to replace the battery…. I was hoping there was something better on the market, but doesn't look that way.
