Then I noticed that I had problems reading the virtual CD (VERR_PDM_MEDIA_LOCKED) where I had originally loaded another version of the guest additions from Oracle. So I always install the Guest Additions to the Guest Operating System in order to be able to use all features. In these situations, you can just restart the VirtualBox Guest Additions Tray Application.
