For some reason your transformer is allowing a small amount of voltage to leak through to your fixtures when the system is off. If the GFCI would not reset, check the main electrical panel to see if a breaker tripped for that circuit. But when I leave the switch on, the timer works, but the trips don't turn the power on /off. About the time we had a very heavy rain (over 5 inches), they stopped working. I want to put it on a 150W transformer to allow for a few extra path lights. Our gardener who installed the lighting system says it's not the timer but is proposing adding another transformer to provide power to the section not working.This doesn't make sense to me the lampcord wired into your boxes is scary.
