Yeah it sucks going back to Windows but I never had so many things go wrong with hardware in my life as I have switching to Mac in 07. Anyway, I guess the issue is related to heat. Instead of using pressure to keep the ribbon in place, they used a piece of anti-static tape. For how long not sure.
