Use 'Command+Control+Shift+3', to copy the screenshot on the clipboard and paste it in some application. 'Command+Shift+4', is used to capture only a portion of the screen.

I found that I needed to press the FN key on my laptop. In some laptops, you have to press the Fn key, along with the printscreen key to get the job done. For some reason the print screen function just will not work, I have tried pressing the button on its own and also whilst holding down the alt button to no avail. Some of these laptops do have a lot of extra keys and connections.
Just Restart the ComputerSometimes, the problem is at a hardware level, where the keyboard entries are not mapping properly.
