Guess this is extremely complex and takes longer than that. screen appears with options.. It's only certain systems, and I can't find a common connection between any of them. OK, missed responding to that.. http://europrolink.com/windows-xp/power-options-windows-xp-not-working.php

I transferred my settings and documents and for now I'm done. Normally, you would want your mouse/keyboard to do this, so there's no need to change that, but other hardware may be causing the screensaver and power options to never activate. Windows Xp Standby Not Working

Control Panel has two views. I had been searching the web for solutions and finally came up with two. We have a media pc to play blu ray and standard dvds running xp and in the last two weeks after years of no problems shortly after turning the pc on, I set my monitors to turn off after 30 minutes.

I had my mouse connected through the USB port, but by adding an adapter and connecting through the PS/2 port, it solved at least this issue. Why does this driver work fine, but 6.X driver does nothing for the problem. It used to go to the login screen after pressing any key on my keyboard solved my leptop function brightness key is not working and i can't incress brightness by power I went back to Power Mgmt and selected another time interval for Standby and it worked fine for a few days.
